Description
Powell & Associates Science Services was founded in 1997 as a consulting company offering detailed environmental expertise primarily in ground water systems. Today PASS has expertise in all environmental media, including ground water, soils, surface water and air. Additionally, we have extended our services framework to provide our scientific capabilities to other branches of science and business.
The soil data were subjected to a variety of comparative, statistical and mapping procedures. This was to assess whether the data pointed solely to Big Z as the source or whether other sources might be responsible. Other potential sources were natural soil mineralogy, historic activities, and other facilities. Initial procedures also included comparison of the soil concentrations to Michigan’s regulatory requirements, the Part 201 Residential and Commercial 1 Generic Cleanup Criteria and Screening Levels, and to those concentrations found by the Michigan Background Soil Survey 2005.
Exploratory Data Analysis Powell & Associates Science Services has extensive experience in using exploratory and inferential data analysis (EDA) to analyze complex problems and find the causes of and solutions for those problems. Links to an EDA introduction and two detailed examples of the use of EDA are provided below. J.W. Tukey coined the term “exploratory data analysis,” in 1977.
