Description
Our advocacy approach involves early consultation, training and timely responses to client concerns. In the event early intervention and counseling are unsuccessful in resolving a dispute, our clients are provided with accurate and candid legal analysis, and information needed to make educated choices about the best course of action. When a dispute must be decided through litigation, we act as effective advocates in defending or prosecuting our clients' interests. We believe that a "team" approach best serves our clients' objective to promptly, efficiently and successfully resolve matters in litigation. At P&L, effective advocacy does make a difference. Each of our attorneys is involved, on both a professional and personal level, with public education. Two of our attorneys, Blake Powell and Mark Tilley, are the sons of Texas public school administrators. Sara Leon's mother is a former public school teacher, and her father taught medical students for most of his professional career; her father-in-law is a retired administrator and Ashbell Smith Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Quite literally, education is in our genes. Our personal ties to the process of educating children at all levels, and to the challenges faced by public school administrators, color and motivate us in our professional work with public school districts across this state. Quite literally, education is in our genes.Powell & Leon is a 50% minority/woman owned law firm, and is sensitive to our diverse community. In employing staff and in contracting for services, we are committed to employing the highest quality professionals on any work performed for clients, while reflecting the ethnic, cultural, and racial diversity of our community.
