Prab is a leading manufacturer of conveyors and systems for the collection and processing of scrap metal. Prab was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1950 as a manufacturer of metal scrap handling conveyors serving the post-war automotive industry.was derived from the initials of the two original founders, Peter Ruppe and Alan Bodycomb. In 1961, the company was sold and relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan where the company's conveyor line was greatly expanded along with the development of complete scrap metal processing systems. These metal chip processing systems include briquetters, crushers and shredders, parts separators (for tramp metal removal), centrifuges for coolant recovery, and collection/storage/distribution systems.Hundreds of companies are using Prab engineered products to automate their industrial scrap handling, reduce labor costs and reclaiming expensive coolants - Many of these installations have been in operation for decades.
