Since its inception in 1982, POC has played a pivotal role in the design and development of devices and instruments for many advanced optical applications. POC's major roles have included as an OEM supplier of optical products for the U.S. Government and commercial night vision market, as well as providing high quality optical instruments for medical applications, including Endocouplers, Laparoscopes, Stereo Endoscopes, Arthroscopes, Sinuscopes, and other specialized optical devices. Additionally, POC has designed and manufactured simple to complex optical assemblies for many applications in a variety of other markets, including the Semiconductor, Telecommunications, Machine Vision, and Microlithography industries.Design - POC is primarily known as an optical design and development company. We have been involved in cutting edge lens design since the company's inception in 1982. A number of our engineers have specialized academic training in optics, and in a number of cases decades of experience in the development and production of advanced optical systems. We are also experienced in multi-disciplined design and development requiring an in-depth knowledge of mechanical, environmental, and optical thin film engineering. In fact, over 25% of our current staff are engineers and scientists. Most of these experts are skilled in design synthesis and are familiar with advanced computer resources for design and analysis. These include Code V for lens design, and optical image analysis, "Essential MacLeod" and Filmstar for optical thin films, Nastran and other advanced techniques for mechanical — structural analysis and Auto Cad 2000 for mechanical design and Cad/Cam interface to CNC operations.Test & Metrology - POC uses specialized equipment to ensure the quality of our optical instruments. Specialized technical instrumentation includes Autocollimators, Spectrophotometers, Interferometers up to 4", Spectral Analyzers, Microscopes, magnifiers and Photometric Capabilities. In keeping with POC's ISO 13485/9001 certification, training and calibration is continually maintained on all equipment.
