Every member of Primary Eye Care Center’s team is dedicated to providing excellent patient care. Our friendly staff will guide you through every step of the way answering any questions you may have and making you realize how important you are to our practice. We pride ourselves in keeping our staff educated on all of the latest technology to inform our patients of the most up to date eye care.

Dr. James Castner has practiced ophthalmology in the Windsor area for over 25 years. He is a graduate of Fordham University and received his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also performed his internship. His residency was performed at the Naval Regional Medical Center, San Diego, CA. Dr. James Castner is a board-certified ophthalmologist, is certified by the American Board of Eye Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians. Dr. James Castner is on staff at The Eye Surgery Center, Hartford Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital, and Johnson Surgery Center.

The Eye Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art surgical center located in Bloomfield, Conn., was established in 1985 and was the first free-standing ambulatory eye surgery center in the state of Connecticut.
