We started by creating a solution for one woman’s personal needs as a spinal cord injury patient with severe contractures and from this created a company that has addressed the needs of thousands of clients of all types. Our first standing device, the Granstand , was built to address the needs of the president of our company, this unit was the accepted clinical standard for over 10 years supplying proper standing and positioning. Our new versions of this unit the Granstand II and Granstand III have set new standards for function, positioning and capability.

Our first stander was built for my personal use and the approach we took then was that standing is good for you, but that standing correctly would be better. With a great deal of research, medical advice and all the input we could put together, we built our first Granstand Standing device. As our product turned into products and we matured into a manufacturer of standing equipment, our focus and message are the same - standing is good for you, but standing correctly is better!

KIDSTAND® III MODULAR STANDING SYSTEM FEATURES: NO TRANSFERS, NO LIFTING DESIGN: As with all Granstand Products, clients stand directly from their wheelchair, bed or other surface. UPGRADEABLE MODULAR FRAME DESIGN: Granstand III MSS can be changed from our basic manual standing frame to a complete hydraulic assisted standing system. Changes in client size, ability, positional or medical condition can be accommodated quickly with cost-saving conversion kits.

Twenty years of knowledge and experience go into the details of this premier Standing System. Its design allows for a completely modular approach to upright standing, supplying unprecedented growth capabilities. It will grow from 3’ to 6’5” using a simple, inexpensive growth kit. The modular design allows it to be used as a manual stander or be upgraded to an assisted manual system or a full hydraulically assisted standing system. This means one simple unit that grows with you and will accommodate for changes in conditions and needs. Standing in the Granstand III is easy.

Since 1984, our primary motivation has been proper, safe standing for people with physical and/or aging related disabilities. Through the years, Prime Engineering has steadily grown as the innovative designer of Standing Systems by listening to clients, parents and healthcare professionals, while staying altruistic to our goal, "Standing you the way nature intended" Standing is important, but standing correctly is crucial. To realize the full benefit of a standing program you must stand correctly.
