Opening its doors in 1990, Pro-Tainer's objective was to serve the refuse disposal and recycling industry with products that were affordable, well-made, and versatile. Within two years, Pro-Tainer had become a viable force in the industry. By consistently establishing high quality standards and expanding the product line, they have maintained their lead. Pro-Tainer products are all federally approved and available on DOD and GSA contracts. On October 15, 1996, the sixth year of business, Pro-Tainer, Incorporated was honored statewide as one of Minnesota's leading new industries. By maintaining our commitment to product quality and customer service, Pro-Tainer, Incorporated promises to be a leader for many years to come. On October 1, 2001, Pro-Tainer, Incorporated moved its manufacturing facility to a new location in the Alexandria Industrial Park providing employees with a state of the art working environment along with new sandblasting and paint booths. Shane and Shaynen Schmidt, the company's owners, are dedicated to employee team structures. This guarantees customer satisfaction and quality product lines. In July 2005, Pro-Tainer Incorporated added an exciting new addition at the ownership level with Shaynen Schmidt (son of Shane) joining Shane as Vice-President. This father-son team has many new ideas to add to Pro-Tainer equipment for yet another generation. On January 6, 2009 Pro-Tainer Incorporated acquires Geneva Recycling Products expanding it's market and product line. Along with refuse and recycling equipment Pro-Tainer will offer a line of Tow-A-Toilets.
