A.R.T. is a state-of-the-art soft tissue treatment method that addresses conditions of the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves that arise from acute trauma or repetitive stress. There are only approximately 3,000 providers of this unique form of treatment in the entire world. A.R.T. actually holds a patent in the United States. The number of professional and Olympic athletes who rely on A.R.T. for treatment of their injuries and to improve their performance continues to grow. Although many athletes seek A.R.T. for their injuries, it is just as effective with non-sports related injuries as well. In order to be a provider of A.R.T. a certification is required after extensive training and testing. The neuromusculoskeletal system consists of three distinct yet intertwined systems. The philosophy at Pro-Active Wellness Center is that all three parts are equally important thus all three must be addressed in treatment. We believe that the combination of the chiropractic adjustment, Active Release technique, and rehabilitation is the most comprehensive system of treating conditions of the neuromusculoskeletal system.

Dr. Perry attended Simon Fraser University in Canada because of its prestigious Kinesiology program. He focused his studies on ergonomics (the human interaction with technical and work situations) and exercise physiology. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his goal to become a Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Perry attended the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) and graduated in December of 2005. Upon graduation he was offered a chiropractic position at The Arcadia Spine Center where he had previously completed his internship during his last year of chiropractic school. This experience provided Dr. Perry with the knowledge of how to effectively run a successful private practice at the same time providing the highest quality of care to its patients. Along with Dr. Yu, Dr. Perry opened the Pro-Active Wellness Center to provide the same quality of care to the residents of the South Bay. Dr. Perry's background in kinesiology and chiropractic allows him to approach every patient with perspectives from both fields.

Chiropractic is best known for its great success in treating low back and neck pain. However, the scope of chiropractic extends far beyond these complaints. Therefore, we want to know about all of the conditions and symptoms that you currently have. Prior to any treatment you will be asked to fill out a health history to help us better understand the nature of your condition. This is followed by a thorough consultation, during which the Doctor will ask you a number of questions regarding the history of your condition and your current symptoms. Finally the doctor will perform a pertinent examination using physical, neurological, and orthopedic tests to determine the cause of your complaints and the overall health of your body. X-rays are useful diagnostic tools that we provide for our patients to allow for a thorough evaluation of the injured area. Since we use a very specific technique it is important to have this information in order provide you with the best treatment possible. Additionally, we occasionally find a problem that the patient was not even aware of. "To see is to know, while not to see is to guess." We will not guess about your health.
