CMS - Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services JCAHO - Joint Commission of Accredation of Healthcare Organizations Seclusion and Restraint Preventive Client Centered Environment Milieu Management Crisis Prevention The History of the T.A.C.T. programs dates back to the early 1980's. The founder and co-owner of PES, Incorporated was involved in statewide training of crisis prevention within the State of Florida (ACT, TEAM) through FMHI -Florida Mental Health Institute at the University of South Florida. The development of the T.A.C.T. program stems from years of research and development through extensive time spent in each specialized setting in order to evaluate the least restrictive and safest interventions at every level of care. Over the course of time the programs have continued to be modified to meet the ongoing changes and requirements of governing bodies(CMS/JCAHO). Specialized training programs were developed to assist in the greater understanding of each setting and client needs. This process has greatly enhanced staff's awareness of client needs and assists in the development of individualized crisis management plans. T.A.C.T. - Therapeutic Alternatives in Crisis Training T.E.A.C.H. - Techniques for Effective Adolescent & Child Handling S.T.A.T. - Safety & Therapeutic Alternatives in Triage T.R.A.U.M.A. - Techniques for Rehabilitation and Alternatives Utilizing Milieu Assessment G.U.I.D.E. - Geriatric Understanding of Issues Dealing with the Elderly PES, Incorporated Master Trainers The Master Trainers at PES, Incorporated are carefully selected and have provided extensive adult learning in a variety of educational settings. Educational requirements of our master trainers include a minimum of bachelors degree with a preferred masters degree. These degrees must be in the field of education or healthcare(nursing). We also require that our master trainers mentor under experienced trainers in order to fully understand the training format and uphold the programs integrity.
