Professional Eye Care Center is a modern eye care facility offering a full range of eye care services and a large contemporary selection of frames, lenses and contacts. The practice was established in 1963 by Dr. Donald Cohen and is now independently owned by Drs. Chris and Kevin King, Pennye Stammer Doud, and Vincente Simoncini. The doctors and their staff are committed to providing the highest quality of vision care to their patients and making available to them state-of-the-art vision correction techniques with an emphasis on personalized service for the entire family!Raised in Maryland, Dr. King is a graduate of Montgomery College and the University of Maryland at College Park. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1985 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. An active Board member since 1986, Dr. King currently serves as Treasurer of the Maryland Optometric Association. Voted Rockville Lion of the year in 2002 and awarded a Melvin Jones fellowship in 2004, Dr. King serves as the Pre-school Vision Screening Program medical director for District 22-C. She is also an active participant in vision screenings offered by the 4-H at the Montgomery County Fair. Voted Maryland Optometrist of the Year in 1993, she still considers her greatest achievement to be meeting her husband, Kevin. Drs. King reside in Rockville with their spoiled rotten cats. In addition to Dr. King's busy professional service activities, she creates beautiful and award-winning cross-stitch and needlecrafts.Dr. King is a native New Englander, having been born in Boston and raised in Maine. He received his undergraduate degree from Bates College. He obtained his Doctorate of Optometry in 1984 from the New England College of Optometry, where he was valedictorian. Dr. King then completed a residency in family practice optometry at the University of Alabama Birmingham, where he also met his wife. He is an active member of the local and national optometric associations, and is co-chair of the 4-H vision screening program at the Montgomery County Fair. Residing in Rockville, Dr. King is a board member of the local homeowners association. His avocations include golf, coin-collecting, rooting for the Red Sox, and playing with his cats.
