Following this initial preservice, between two and three teams of five members will be selected by the host and other participating districts to receive the second part of the training. Each team needs to consist of someone who will fill the roles of each of the positions on the Project STAY team: a teacher with experience in both special and general education; someone with experience in writing behavioral descriptions and data collection systems; someone with experience in working with families; an individual with a strong background in using computer software; and one other member.
Please note that Project STAY is unable to provide youth-specific feedback of information, but will be happy to provide general systemic feedback and assist in providing suggestions for overcoming problematic situations.
Time Out Data Sheet ; A data sheet which many of the schools Project STAY has worked with have found helpful in collecting behavioral data on student with whom TIME OUT is being utilized.
In 1998, the Kansas State Department of Education provided funding to Project STAY to conduct an intensive team training around the team problem-solving process that Project STAY utilizes. This team training is centered around a host district. This training generally consists of three parts, a 1-2 day preservice in which up to 50 school staff from the host district and surrounding districts are able to attend an in-depth overview of the project STAY problem-solving process.
