Promised Land Stables is a family owned and operated business that started in 1998. We are dedicated to providing the best care possible for all of our four legged friends. The farm is owned by Pat and Frank Taylor, managed by their daughter Susan Graf, with helping hands from her husband Dan and their family. It was started because of our desire to raise and train quality Haflinger horses and to share the outstanding traits of this breed with others. We have found that the best way to describe a Haflinger is "to know them is to love them!".Along with the breeding and sale of Haflingers, Promised Land has one of the finest facilities in southwest Virginia for horses. The barn contains 15 stalls, each 12' by 12', a small indoor riding area, tack room and a wash rack with hot water.We have 15 pastures, four paddocks and an outdoor ring. Horses are usually kept in groups of two to four in the pastures. This allows them a herd relationship and also eliminates the struggles that can occur in larger groups. All of our horses are fed twice a day with grain and hay as needed. Fresh water is always provided in both the pastures and stalls. To ensure the health and well being of our horses, we maintain a regular vaccination schedule, routine deworming every eight weeks, and farrier care. If you are unable to care for your horse at home, you can be assured that he or she will be well cared for on a daily basis at Promised Land.
