Verilink Corporation (Nasdaq: VRLK), a leading provider of broadband access solutions, today announced the execution of a Master Distributor agreement with Promptus Communications based in Sydney Australia, a leading value-added distributor specializing in IP telephony and converged access solutions in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with particular focus in Australia and New Zealand.

Promptus Communications Inc. ("Promptus") was founded in the USA in 1988 and opened its first office in Asia in 1995. Historically the company specialized in the design, manufacture, distribution and support of information security and network access products. These products served many applications including encryption, inverse-multiplexing in ISDN environments, bandwidth management and switching.

Furthermore, Patapsco's 2 new PacketBand Pseudo-Wire systems will be marketed to 100 plus licensed carriers in Australia and New Zealand and over 2,000 corporate, military and government accounts. PacketBand ISDN enables clocked, synchronous clear-channel ISDN PRI and BRI circuits to be delivered across Packet Networks, such as IP. It preserves the "B" channels and all the signalling and data performance characteristics required by ISDN to provide totally seamless transmission.
