Description
Prospera Credit Union results from a 1934 grass roots effort of George Banta Publishing Company Employees of Menasha, WI. The goal was to provide financial support to each other through the formation of a financial cooperative called Banta Credit Union. It began by operating out of a converted proofreading booth in the Banta Company's facilities. The first annual meeting was held January 8, 1935 at which time the credit union had 216 members and over $2,500 in assets.
