Learning Works! Community Learning Center (LWCLC) provides educational opportunities and hands-on assistance to parents, youth and children in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley. We serve a diverse student clientele, K through 12th graders, with tutoring, homework assistance, intervention, and enrichment classes. Our goal is to apply what we know about schools and educational systems in ways that more concretely meet the needs of parents and students. LWCLC provides a safe space for families to access information and support. Sometimes the institutions, schools and programs designed to help are too difficult to understand and negotiate. Other times information is simply not communicated effectively or readily available. Our work provides an invaluable support to the families of our community. Regardless of class, race or ethnicity, or socio-economic status, parents are struggling to help their children succeed in school and beyond. Often LWCC provides the boost necessary for a parent or child who’s willing to make the effort.
