Description

Working in an old tobacco barn surrounded by ceramic sculptures, flower gardens and fields, I have been making high-fired , colorful, stoneware pottery for over 35 years.Walking into the studio gallery, you would be struck by the dynamic forms and exciting bold glaze colors that contrast with the earthiness of the unglazed clay. Whether wheel thrown or hand built, my pottery draws on my experience of energy flow, abstract form and historical precedent.

The Green MountainSpinnery produces and sells high quality natural fiber yarns, and classic knitting patterns that are easy to use and give excellent results. Customers can expect responsive customer service and technical pattern support delivered by "real people." The Spinnery is in its 32nd year of operation. Our commitment to the environment is reflected in our business practices and in our products. Our identity as a worker-owned cooperative is an important part of how we wish to be viewed by our peers in the yarn industry and in the wider business community.

Working with my wife Jenny in our studio/forge in Vermont, I have been a full time blacksmith since 1975. I am dedicated to forging an extensive range of functional work for the home and hearth in a delicate, decorative, and distinctive style. All pieces are worked individually at the forge using traditional techniques with hammer and tongs. As a result, there will be some variations, ensuring that each piece is truly unique, bearing an element of the spirit of its maker.
