THE SOLUTION: REAL Controls met with the client's engineers to evaluate their wants and needs for re-design. We developed a wish list of new features and capabilities and discussed other improvements. REAL Controls proposed several options to achieve the client's goals. We reviewed the advantages, disadvantages and costs associated with each option. The option that best fit the client's needs involved replacing the electro-mechanical based system with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). These devices have been used successfully in manufacturing process control applications for over 30 years and have been established as the standard. Although the PLC was not the least expensive option, it is a highly reliable, industrial quality device, which works very well to satisfy the client's requirements for flexibility and expandability.

THE CLIENT : Creative Control Designs, Inc. (CCD), located in Columbus, Ohio is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls Corporation. The company designs, manufactures and installs control panels for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning applications for retail and commercial customers.

Adobe - Our engineers use Adobe products, including Photoshop, Illustrator and ImageReady to produce many of the high quality graphical images which we incorporate into our products. We also use Pagemaker, InDesign and Acrobat to develop operators manuals and other documentation to support our products.

For over 15 years, Burley's Rink Supply (BRS) has been an industry leader in designing, installing and renovating ice skating rinks. The company provides a full range of design, fabrication, installation and project management services. Their products include construction of ice skating arenas and the equipment needed to produce and maintain the ice sheet.
