RH Lyon Corp is an engineering consulting firm specializing in noise and vibration reduction, product sound quality improvement, and machine condition monitoring. We offer special strengths in acoustics, vibration, active noise and vibration control, dynamics, structural design and signal processing. RH Lyon Corp was founded in 1976 by Dr. Richard H. Lyon, Professor Emeritus and a former Division Head in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, and a Past-President of the Acoustical Society of America. In 2003, he was the recipient of the Gold Medal of the Acoustical Society of America, its highest award. In addition to staff engineers, RH Lyon Corp has agreements with a number of co-consultants (both in the Boston area and worldwide) who are recognized leaders in their specific fields. We are able to draw upon these co-consultants as project needs dictate. Our experience in noise control and quiet product design over the last three decades has proven that a multi-disciplinary or systems approach is necessary for truly creative, successful solutions. As a project develops, the broad background of staff skills allows us to work directly with representatives from product planning and design, marketing, engineering, and other specialty areas.
