In terms of sheer survival, RJD Packaging Professionals, Incorporated has stood the test of time, with President Bob DeGrand laying claim to 28+ years of industry experience. In terms of skill and expertise, our reputation as a quality house would take its shape from DeGrand's past, which began with his certification as a “Label-Aire Specialist” in the early 1980’s. Recently tapped by Label-Aire to premier the new Model 8500 Sleever Series, DeGrand's background includes many other packaging "firsts." In fact, DeGrand cut his teeth on the installation of Label-Aire’s very first Zero-Downtime applicator. He was also on the forefront of other Label-Aire innovations, including the installation of its first high-speed cup labeler on paper cup-forming machines; the Zero-Downtime chub labeler applying full-wrap pressure sensitive labels at 250-per-minute speeds; and the 3200 Label-Aire prime system with air-fill for applying front/back clear film labels. In order to maintain its competitive edge, we at RJD Packaging Professionals, Incorporated continue to hone our skills, of which consulting and integration have become an increasingly large part. In addition to working with customers on RFID solutions, recent projects have included the integration of a high-speed cup labeler to cup-printing machinery, labeling 32-oz. plastic cups at 400-per-minute speeds (Patent # 6811648); the creation of our own patented process to automatically apply pressure sensitive, hook-and-loop closures to folded cardboard containers (Pending Patent # US-2006-0249247-A1); and the integration of a vision and glue joint system for a Fortune 50 corporation.
