Thank you for your interest in R&H Chrome Alloy Wear Parts! It is always a pleasure to introduce our long wearing tillage tools and sprockets to an interested farmer. First, we should explain what they are, and why they have set the standard for wear throughout the industry. R&H Parts are cast from a high chrome alloy. The chief characteristic of this alloy is its resistance to abrasive wear. As you know, the friction caused by dragging tillage tools through the ground at the speeds now possible with high-powered tractors causes the parts to become very hot--and to wear very fast. Chrome alloy has a built-in ability to withstand red heat, thus extending the life of tillage tools far beyond that of even hardfaced parts. It is the equivalent of having the parts made of solid hardfacing. We began making these parts over thirty years ago, and, for a number of years, we marketed them chiefly in the Northwest. Because chrome alloy wears so long, it became evident that we were going to have to keep making new kinds of parts and/or marketing them in a much wider area. Today we ship ripper points, digger parts, planter shoes, tillage points, etc. all over the country, while we continue to introduce new parts based on our customers' requests. Repeated tests have shown that when you multiply the price of a standard hardfaced part by the number of times our part outwore it, then divide the price of the R&H part, the standard ones cost a little over eight times as much as ours. We know this may be hard for you to believe so we urge you to run a test on your own equipment in your particular soil conditions--put R&H parts in the wheel tracks, and run them against new standard ones of any make. After you have replaced the others several times, ours will be polished, but the original size. When you have tired of changing the standard ones, it will be time to call us for relief.
