Description
SACRAMENTO – Randle Communications (Randle), ranked number two on Sacramento’s list of top public relations firms by the Sacramento Business Journal, today announced the hiring of Jason Probst as Media Relations Manager. The appointment reflects Randle’s commitment to recruiting professionals committed to teamwork, high standards, and superior client service. “We are thrilled to add Jason Probst to Randle Communications’ dynamic team of public relations and public affairs professionals,” Randle President and CEO Jeff Randle said. “His experience as a communicator and journalist adds considerable value for our clients, while he brings a keen understanding of current trends and the fast-changing media landscape. Moreover, Jason’s ‘team first’ attitude reflects our firm’s culture for client service.” Probst comes to the firm following four successful years at the City of Roseville, where he served as a Communications Analyst in the City’s External Affairs Department. His responsibilities included pitch and placement of stories in local print, speechwriting, broadcast and web media, public outreach campaigns, and hosting televised news shows, commercials and live election coverage for City of Roseville Television. Probst worked on the City’s social media campaigns and led publicity for Roseville’s Earth Day 2010 event. Probst has also written extensively for the Sacramento News and Review, covering a mix of political and feature stories, and wrote the cover story for Entrepreneur.com’s July 2002 issue, “Tales From the Dotcom Darkside,” chronicling the experiences of Harvard Business School graduates. From 2003-2006, Probst worked as a reporter for the Roseville Press-Tribune, covering local government, land use and environmental issues, real estate and other beats. Since 2003, Probst has been a regular contributor to ESPN, covering mixed martial arts and boxing, including serving as ESPN’s official round-by-round scorer. He has also freelanced for Black Belt magazine, appeared as a guest on sports radio shows across the nation, and served as historical consultant and editor to New York Times bestselling author Douglas Century’s Barney Ross: The Life of a Jewish Fighter. A 1996 graduate of Washington State University (B.A., Political Science), Jason was editor of The Daily Evergreen, WSU’s college newspaper, where he worked for four years.
