Melissa Martin-Schwarz is being honored for her inspiring work with Black Hills Works. A fearless advocate, Melissa is a role model to other Service Coordinators and a mentor to direct support professionals. She is a strong advocate and is dedicated to providing quality services and supports to people with disabilities. Melissa was involved in the development of the Heroes & Hardrockers group, a collaboration between South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and persons served by Black Hills Works.

Dr. Charles Hart is being honored for his commitment to providing quality health care services throughout the Black Hills area. For the past 31 years, Dr. Hart has been actively involved in meeting the health care needs within our community. During his leadership with Regional Health he has worked to enhance physician partnerships, increased access to core services, and created a strong foundation for Regional Health’s future grown. Dr. Hart is a past and present member of multiple state and local civic organizations, such as Rapid City Chamber of Commerce, Community Health Center of the Black Hills, South Dakota Medical Association, American Medical Association, American Hospital Association and the Black Hills Vision.
