Description

The idea of a gourmet Snack Bar was an idea created long ago based on the love of three things: Family, great food and the Delmarva beaches. That dream became more of a reality, when our beloved mother, Abby passed away in July 2006 from a courageous fight with Breast Cancer. We felt compelled to create something here at the beach, to honor our mom and the things that she loved the most. In 2008, Ray Ray’s Snack Shack was born and we created a menu with our mother’s footprints all over it. She taught us as kids, the real “Delmarva” way to make a Crab Cake (with no filler!) and we have used her recipe verbatim. The Abby, a salad on our menu, is a salad in which she could have eaten everyday. In choosing the name we decided to celebrate life, rather than death. Ray Ray’s Snack Shack is named after our beautiful daughter and niece Rachel. Originally nicknamed after #52 himself, Rachel has gone by the name Ray Ray practically since she was born. After nearly twenty years in the Restaurant/Bar industry, including a Raw Bar and Lounge on the Upper West Side of NYC and a current successful concept in Denver, CO, called the (212) Café (eat212.com). It is both an honor and privilege to be able to come home and fulfill a life long dream of opening a gourmet snack bar at the Beach. Thank you for giving us a try.
