Description

History The year was 1905, Teddy Roosevelt was in the White House and Reading Chain and Block began operations in a small factory in Reading, Pennsylvania. The new company designed and manufactured hand chain hoists for the emerging industrial market. As the industrial revolution progressed, Reading Chain and Block began manufacturing complete manual and electrically operated overhead cranes for industry throughout North and South America. Many of these cranes are still in use today.

Reading Crane and Engineering Co. is not simply a new equipment provider and a service company. Our company name was chosen for a reason and shows our understanding that structural, mechanical and electrical engineering play the primary role in providing our customers with the proper equipment for their needs. Our large staff of in-house Professional Engineers have numerous years of experience in the design of overhead cranes, crane runway systems and mobile electrification systems. Our engineering services are not limited to new equipment installations.
