Barbara Altomare, Owner Barbara has more than 20 years experience in managing high value office, manufacturing, warehouse, retail and sporting venue properties. She began her career managing an indoor tennis club, and was one of the first to implement energy management systems in that industry, which significantly reduced utility costs. After canvassing the club members as to how their experience could be improved, Barbara added a restaurant / bar. Having based the menu and ambiance on member feedback, this venture was profitable from the day it opened. After researching the region, Barbara championed expanding the club to include outdoor courts and a pool, which, again, increased membership, revenues and profits. Barbara began her career in property management with Perini Management Services Incorporated, one of the most highly-respected property management firms in the country. While there she co-managed two of Silicon Valley's most distinctive high-rise office buildings in Mountain View and San Jose. At Perini, Barbara learned the intricacies of building and safety codes, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, security systems, landscaping and tenant improvements. In addition to attending trade-hosted maintenance classes, Barbara worked closely with maintenance teams learning how to be optimally effective in constructing RFPs, assessing competitive bids, monitoring the tenant experience, managing vendors to schedules and budgets, verifying bid compliance, and verifying that expectations were fully met. Perini also provided excellent training in project management, crucial to ensuring tenant improvements are done in a timely, cost-effective manner and that tenants are satisfied. Barbara left Perini for RealProp Development Company where she managed more than 2 million square feet of office, manufacturing, warehouse and retail property, establishing a reputation for working well with owners, tenants and vendors, competent and doing more than required and expected by all parties. In this expanded role, she took on responsibility for constructing leases, broker relations, partner accounting and disbursements, legal work and overall office operations. Barbara also learned how to effectively manage properties remotely.
