Description
We provide a full range of occupational therapy specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation. The upper extremity is a very complex part of the body which requires a thorough knowledge of anatomy and specific intervention techniques.
What is the elbow? The elbow is a hinge joint comprised of 3 bones - humerus, radius and ulna (see Figure 1). Ligaments hold the bones together to provide stability to the joint. Muscles and tendons originate and insert onto the bones around the elbow to provide force to move the bones and perform activities.
At Reconstructive Hand Surgeons of Indiana, we provide a full range of occupational therapy specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation. The upper extremity is a very complex part of the body which requires a thorough knowledge of anatomy and specific intervention techniques. Services here are provided by registered occupational therapists , some of whom are certified hand therapists. Therapeutic interventions include conservative management for those who are not indicated for surgery, but suffer pain, decreased mobility or strength.
