"Pap" Pyette December 12, 1926 - March 4, 2010 CHINOOK MONTANA — President and founder of Red Rock Power, passed away of natural causes at the Sweet Nursing Home in Chinook on March 4, 2010. Rosary was recited on Sunday, March 7, at St. Gabriel ’s Catholic Church. Funeral mass was Monday, March 8. Burial followed at Kuper Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be sent to the Chinook Wrestling Club, the Gift of Life Housing in Great Falls, or one ’s choice. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Willie was born in Chinook to Peter and Clara Pyette. Willie graduated from Chinook High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Mary Pappas in 1955. He worked for a power line company before starting his own business in 1977. Willie also was involved in farming and loved working with horses and ran the North Chinook Mail route. When he retired from Red Rock Power in 1995, he was proud that his son Willie and daughter Claire took over the company. He was active in the Chinook Community, member of the WFW Post 4620; St. Gabriel ’s Catholic Church, IBEW Local #44 and served on the Benefis Regional Health Board. Willie is survived by his wife Mary Pyette of Chinook; daughters Patty (Hugo) Anderson of Cut Bank, Linda Pyette of Havre, Wilma Pyette (Dave) of Houston, Texas, Claire (Jon) Stoner of Havre, Wendy Verity (Greg) of Denver, Colo.; son Willie (Melissa) Pyette of Great Falls; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. He took great pride in the fact that he played a role in electrification of rural Montana. He worked for Duty Construction for 19 years before starting his own successful power line company, Red Rock Power, in 1977. He worked with several of his children at Red Rock and was proud to have his son Willie and daughter Claire take the reins of the Red Rock when he retired in 1995. Through his work he mentored many men and shared his passion for line work. He was a great teacher and tough boss. He took great pride in that he trained many lineman throughout Montana & Idaho that have made line work a career. He will be deeply missed and we know he is forever watching over the Red Rock Power crews. Red Rock Power Incorporated was founded in 1977. It is a family owned firm based in Havre, Montana. We specialize in the construction of high voltage power lines, and substations. We offer a wide variety of services including hot line pole change outs; re-conductoring; fiber optics; underground; retirement and emergency storm repair work. Recently we completed the substation, 34.5kv power line, and the primary high voltage cable installation for the United Materials Wind Farm in Great Falls, Montana. We currently employ 10 people, 3 of which are journeymen linemen.
