LSM were comissioned to do a report for a UK based company called designplan, a leading manufacturer of lighting solutions, who wanted to increase their market share in the Far East. designplan wanted to understand what was involved in setting up a business in China and so LSM delivered a report to the Directors covering all of the social and comercial, security, economic and political issues involved. But it is a two way traffic......... LSM are also acting as advisers to a very successful language school based in China who are setting up a residential language school in the UK. LSM are providing a range of services from setting up the business, to finding suitable premises, from UK entry regulations to funding and grants.

However, unlike Royal Mail, the organisations are notlooking for advice on their own portfolios, rather to provide services fortheir clients.

IDIS - managing world medicines. Founded in 1987 Fast growing company IDIS are leaders in the specialist field of the supply of drugs on a named patient basis. IDIS appointed LSM's consult division to help them work out the strategy for relocating their Head Office with a minimum loss of staff and to advise on the correct size of facility for the planned future growth of the business. In addition the report covered the future relocation startegy for the Logistics Warehouse and a possible European facility. Following LSM's report and recommendations a brief was written for the building search and a Chartered Surveying firm appointed under LSM's recommendation to find a new Head Office. Following a short listing process including space planning and travel to work analysis to gauge the impact on existing staff, IDIS selected a brand new building in Weybridge now renamed IDIS House, as their new Headquarters. Following the successful completion of phase one, LSM have started the project management of the design and fitout phase that will result in IDIS relocating to their new Head Office in the last quarter of 2005.
