Description
APS - Attending Physician's Statement Reliable Reporting Services, Incorporated provides an Attending Physician's Statement service that, in our estimation, is unparalleled within the industry both in terms of the assistance we provide and the cost savings realized by our clients. Through the skilled efforts of our administrative staff and professionals, significant time savings are effected with minimal disruption to the attending physician. All this leads to a more efficient, timely and cost effective process and receipt of the APS. We provide two different types of APS services, Copy Services and Physician's Narrative Reports. Detailed descriptions of each are provided below. COPY SERVICE APS This is the traditional APS, which is familiar to most underwriters. It is a copy of all chart notes and records. The underwriter, in effect, receives a complete medical history, including the exact medical diagnosis of all conditions and their treatments, as well as any attendant laboratory test results. Since the physician's assistant will generally prepare the copy of the file, our experience has found this to result in faster turnaround times. The ordering and follow-up processes are similar, except that we are frequently able to obtain the results via fax and return them to you in kind. 1.) In addition to contacting the physician directly to attempt to obtain a verbal response, we will work with you to establish the most effective way to transmit the APS request authorization to the attending physician to ensure a prompt response. 2.) Self-addressed, pre-paid envelopes are provided to the doctor for the prompt return of the APS to our office, unless physician's office is willing to fax. This includes the doctor's invoice, thereby improving turnaround time. 3.) APS requests are closely monitored and follow up calls to the doctor's office are made every four working days. Statuses may be reported back to your office via phone, fax or on-line immediately upon their receipt. On-line access is offered on a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week basis. 4.) All APS's are returned to your underwriting department confidentially, via on-line ordering or by fax to decrease response time and to allow early completion of the underwriting process. We can send the results to your Imaging system if necessary. 5.) All medical fees are paid up-front by us and charged to you on one convenient invoice. 6.) All orders are handled and monitored on a priority basis. 7.) We will continue to follow-up on all outstanding reports unless advised by you to close our file. 8.) We maintain a complete database on all physicians and their offices to facilitate the ordering and follow-up of all requests. PHYSICIAN NARRATIVE APS Unlike the traditional APS report, the goal with this service is to obtain a complete narrative summary of the applicant's medical file. In this style of report, the attending physician provides an abridged re-cap of your applicant's medical history.
