Description

In 1982, three entrepreneurs opened Overland Rentals, Inc., general rental stores in Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas. Working in the store on a daily basis, they quickly recognized the need for a fast computer system that could handle the day-to-day transaction, inventory control, and paperwork of their growing business. Five computer systems of that era were evaluated and all rejected as slow, inflexible and inadequate. The need for a superior counter system specifically tailored to the rental industry was obvious.
