Assuming that your customers will remain loyal, honest and transparent is a good way to miss out on honest evaluations and feedback. Candid reviews are the perfect opportunity for your business to adapt, reflect, adjust and grow. Even if your customers have been loyal in the past, it doesn’t mean they will be tomorrow. Treat them as the valuable gems they are. Ask for their feedback; it’s not as scary as it sounds.

Don’t wait until a negative review jeopardizes your practice’s online reputation. You’re more likely to receive a glowing compliment about your services if you simply ask. Encourage your patients to share their positive sentiments on review sites and social networks. Each time your content is tweeted on Twitter, liked on Facebook, “+1ed” on Google Plus or shared on LinkedIn, it increases your reach and improves your site traffic. As a physician, you have no way of erasing or editing a negative review.

It should be easy for your customers to finish their transactions and then share their experiences. While it’s reasonable to request reviews of your products and services, only ask once and be polite while doing so. If customers feel like you’re forcing the issue, they may feel uncomfortable and may even post negative reviews.
