For years Kennebunk Coffeehouse has brought the best in folk and acoustic music to Southern Maine. River Tree Arts is happy to team up with this forward-thinking, music-loving, hard-working non-profit to bring you more of what you’ve come to know and love… Great artists in a friendly atmosphere. Venues may change, but traditions remain: good coffee and snacks, good people- and of course, really good music. Concerts are held in the River Tree Arts concert space located at 35 Western Ave in Kennebunk, ME. There are 75 seats available for performances. Advanced sales are recommended. Tickets can be purchased online here or at the River Tree Arts front desk. On Sunday September 26th at 7pm the Kennebunk Coffeehouse will be presenting an amazing Celtic Music Celebration with one of Scotland’s most popular bands, North Sea Gas. Going for thirty years and stronger than ever North Sea Gas entertains with guitars, mandolin, fiddle, bouzouki, bodhran, whistles, banjo, and great vocals featuring tremendous three part harmonies. Over the years North Sea Gas has recorded 16 albums and are constantly adding new material to their show. Their latest album, "Edinburgh Toon" was released in July 2009. Their previous album, "Rosslyn", received wonderful reviews from folk magazines, newspapers, etc., including Dirty Linen (USA), The Scots Magazine, and The Living Tradition. Their show, as their albums, consists of traditional, contemporary and self-penned material, all put together with a style of their own. With Gold and Silver disc awards from the Scottish Music Industry Association they consistently sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Continually touring the world, their tours include America, Canada, Germany, Austria, Scotland and many other destinations, including Estonia and Turkey, every year. TV and radio appearances on both sides of the Atlantic include "Late Night Saturday", "Bound for Glory" and "Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour" shown on PBS in the U.S. South. In 2008, North Sea Gas recorded for Chinese Television with an estimated audience of 800 million, a highlight of any bands career! Put simply, North Sea Gas is a highly entertaining Scottish folk band. Multi-instrumental, tremendous harmonies and great craic, they have an ever-growing fan base which ranges through all age groups thus giving the "Gas" show a universal appeal. "No airs and graces just fantastic music" Advanced tickets are only $12 and $15 day of show. Tickets can be purchased at River Tree Arts at 35 Western Ave in Kennebunk, by phone at 207-229-0212 or online here.
