(815) 933-1181 Phone Scam Hits Area Credit Unions The Kankakee Valley Chapter of Credit Unions reports that some of their members are receiving automated telephone calls stating that, due to an electronic mishap, their Visa debit cards have been de-activated and that they need to enter their account numbers in order to re-activate them. This is a scam, and the Kankakee Valley Chapter of Credit Unions alerts area residents that the telephone calls are not authorized by any credit union in the county and, most importantly, under no circumstance should a person provide credit or debit card account numbers over the telephone – no matter who is calling. A representative from a credit union will never call and ask for this information. If you receive such a call, simply hang up and alert a member service representative at your credit union immediately.
