For more than a quarter century Robinson & McElwee has provided clients with excellent legal counsel and representation. We are proud of our reputation as one of West Virginia’s premier law firms. Founded in 1983, Robinson & McElwee opened its doors with seven partners and 12 associates in Charleston, West Virginia. Since its inception, the firm has grown to 47 attorneys, including 26 members. In addition to the firm’s main office in Charleston, Robinson & McElwee serves clients with offices in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Wheeling, West Virginia, and Alliance, Ohio.

Our clients and our relationship with them. Robinson & McElwee serves a wide variety of clients on a range of matters from the simple to the complex. Some of our clients are large, multi-national corporations. Others are small firms with one or two locations. All share a common need for high-quality legal counsel at a reasonable cost, and we strive to deliver just that. In general, we engage in corporate defense work. Other firms specialize in large class actions in which corporations are sued for supposed wrong doings. We defend those firms.
