History And Operation The Rockingham Community College Foundation, Inc., was founded in January of 1970 as one of the first community college-related foundations established in the 58-school system. The RCC Foundation is a completely separate legal entity from the college and has a 501(c)(3) charitable organization designation. Gifts to the RCC Foundation are tax deductible. Please see your financial advisor for details on any tax-related matters.

With so many choices and options, college can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming. RCC counselors can provide academic, career, disability and personal counseling to help you navigate the many obstacles you might face. Counselors are professionally trained and have extensive experience in the field of student development. Students may also be referred to appropriate community services.

CAMPUS FACILITIES Rockingham Community College is located on 274 acres in Wentworth, at the center of Rockingham County, North Carolina. The college has a number of facilities dedicated to serving the training and education needs of our students. Instructional facilities include 18 buildings. Included in these 13 are the Gerald B. James Library, a gymnasium, and the Advanced Technologies Building, with a 247-seat auditorium. Other facilities include the Whitcomb Student Center, the Administration Building, the Apple Amphitheater, the Maintenance Building, and athletic fields.

Each November the RCC Foundation issues a Request for Proposals (RFP) to the RCC campus. Faculty and staff are encouraged to develop innovative projects or programs which will enhance the learning and collegiate experience of our students. In the current year 2012-2013, the RCC Foundation is funding 31 projects and programs totaling $167,918.
