Founded in 1985, Rocky Research is a small high-tech engineering firm specializing in thermal and energy management solutions, with offices in Boulder City, Nevada, and Huntsville, Alabama. Rocky Research is home to a dedicated group of scientists, engineers, technicians, and support personnel, and we are a recognized leader in thermal and energy management design innovations. Rocky Research’s TestPro Division, located within the Huntsville facility, is a full service provider of custom test equipment for the automotive, medical, appliance, audio, and computer application markets.

Rocky Research's TestPro Division is a full service provider of customized test equipment and functional test fixtures, and has served the automotive, medical, appliance, audio, and computer application markets for over 19 years. Our team of professionals provide technical capabilities for in-house customized design and Build-to-Print, customized programming, test/verification of data acquisition processes, and Human to Machine Interfaces.

From thermal problems due to harsh environments, to packaging or ruggedization, fluid analysis for the HVAC&R industry, and custom test equipment, Rocky Research utilizes our core capabilities to provide customized engineering and analytical services to commercial, industrial, and defense customers of all shapes and sizes. For more than 20 years, Rocky Research has been a pioneer in the field of sorption refrigeration utilizing complex compounds. Our technology earned special recognition from NASA in 1999. Now, with several key patents utilizing the technology, Rocky Research is poised to provide the most practiced, effective use of sorbent complex compounds for any number of applications.

In Operational Controls Development, Rocky Research has a unique capability because our controls development engineers also have extensive experience in heat transfer and thermodynamics; such experience makes Rocky Research well suited to the development of controls for thermal products (such as for the HVAC&R industries). Rocky Research is capable of providing prototypes and limited or full production volumes of control boards for a wide variety of applications including hardware applications, logic and firmware, and analog design.
