The Kenai River, home of the World Record 97lb 4oz King Salmon, caught May 17, 1985, by local Alaskan Les Anderson, continues to deliver “world class” fighting King Salmon. No other river on earth produces the numbers of native King Salmon averaging 30 to 60 pounds, and only the Kenai River gives anglers the opportunity to land a trophy of 70 to 90 pounds every year. The Kenai River provides 2 distinct runs of King Salmon. The “early run” King Salmon generally begin entering the river around May 10 and continue through the end of June.
