In the early 1980’s when the building industry went kaput and interest rates went sky high, Gene Richter a licensed contractor built over 400 houses in various subdivisions in lower Dorchester County. While watching the housing trends, he realized that consumers could buy more for their money with off-site construction and manufactured housing. In 1985, Gene Richter began Royal Homes, Incorporated in Summerville selling manufactured and off-site construction homes. Today, you can still get more for your money at Royal Homes. Modern manufactured and off-site construction homes are built in a factory still meeting and exceeding the same standards as a house built on a site. The factory uses the same materials as individual building contractors. We provide turnkey assistance when buying an off-site modular home.
