The Company Formed in June 2004, Ruckus Wireless is a wireless equipment supplier focused on the next generation of home networking. The Company is credited with developing the world’s first in-home wireless multimedia system, MediaFlex, which it introduced in October of 2005. Its business includes system products that it sells directly to broadband providers and embedded technology that it licenses to third-party equipment manufacturers. NETGEAR is licensing and has incorporated Ruckus technology into its RangeMax wireless router line. In less than a year since its introduction, Ruckus Wireless has successfully sold its MediaFlex system to some of the world’s leading broadband carriers in Hong Kong, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Slovenia and some two dozen U.S.-rural telcos. Ruckus has received over $30 million from prestigious investors including Sequoia Capital, Motorola Ventures, Sutter Hill Ventures, T-Online Venture Fund, WK Technology Fund, Firelake Capital Management and Invest A.B. in Sweden.
