In an effort to protect people’s privacy, as well as further curb the continuing problem of SPAM email, AT&T has implemented some major changes to their outgoing mail servers. How does this affect you? Many of our customers have purchased their own domain name to be able to send email from addresses that are personalized to their company. However for a long time now, AT&T (and previously SBC) has wanted DSL customers to use their email servers for outgoing mail. Therefore you may be using your own email address yet still sending out through an AT&T mail server. As a result of these new changes, many customers are now seeing intermittent service when it comes to sending email. AT&T has published the solution to these apparent outages, however they are not always successful. If you find you are error regarding your server connection or email address when sending email, go ahead and consult our "Need help" section, or give us a call and we can get someone to help you make the needed changes to restore your email service. Please keep in mind though that as AT&T continues to work on these new measures, changes that work now may not work in the future.
