SAFENOWPROJECT began as a nonprofit with a national focus in 2005. Its original mission was to create, promote and advocate community-based strategies and resources to eliminate child sexual abuse. The organization received endorsements from the National Sheriff’s Association (NSA), Major County Sheriffs Association and other national groups after donating a complete curriculum on sex offender management to NSA for the Neighborhood Watch program, launched a new mascot for child safety and protection, referred to as “Molly Meerkat
