Samaritan Healthcare is a multifaceted health care organization located in Moses Lake Washington. Organized as Grant County Public Hospital District No.1 in 1947 Samaritan is committed to improving the health and well being of the people of the Columbia Basin. History of Samaritan Hospital Grant County Hospital Public Hospital District No.1 was formed in 1947. The first hospital was located in a converted barracks building where the Moses Lake Public Library now stands.In 1952 the hospital Board of Commissioner agreed to construct a new hospital on the current site. With funds obtained from a bond levy and matching federal grant the new “million-dollar” hospital opened in May 1955.
