Samet Privacy, LLC was founded in 2006 and is led by Shai Samet, an attorney and consultant with many years of experience in information privacy consulting and who is among the first professionals to obtain the credential of Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Mr. Samet has helped many organizations (including Fortune 500 companies) develop and implement compliant and effective privacy solutions, without compromising their business needs and objectives. Mr. Samet has been recognized by Computerworld.com as a “Best Privacy Adviser” two consecutive years (2007 and 2008) and his firm is listed among “Eight Privacy Firms to Watch.” Mr. Samet's work has included reviewing and analyzing global privacy requirements, creating privacy policies and procedures (or revising existing ones), conducting privacy audits/assessments and gap analyses, performing data inventories and data flow mapping, and defining and designing appropriate privacy and data protection controls for privacy-impacted applications, databases and products. Prior to starting Samet Privacy, LLC, Mr. Samet was the lead privacy practitioner for Deloitte & Touche’s Security and Privacy Services practice in Southern California. He started his privacy career in 1999 with the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), where he ran the ESRB's Privacy Online Program, an independent privacy seal certification program with over 35 participating member companies from the interactive entertainment industry.
