We design and manufacture quality paperboard folding cartons. The San Diego Paper Box Company began as a manufacturer of set-up boxes for garters in 1906. For many years, the Company was the only manufacturer of chipboard boxes in the San Diego area. Our company flourished and grew with the City of San Diego. Shortly after World War II, Chapman Brothers Enterprises, a family company owned by Sidney Chapman, purchased San Diego Paper Box. He built a successful business making folding cartons and die-cutting gaskets for the aircraft industry.

Our History The San Diego Paper Box Company is a mainstay of San Diego County with a colorful history. The company currently manufactures folding paperboard boxes utilizing computerized graphics, modern multi-color lithographic equipment, and other advanced technologies. However, it did not begin like this. The company began over 108 years ago in Boston, Massachusetts as the Magic Clasp Garter Company. Seeking new opportunities in the Wild West, Mr. W. A. Stevens moved his successful garter factory to San Diego in 1905. His goal was to expand the market for his patented garter clasps.

We are a manufacturer of high quality chipboard products, primarily folding boxes. With our unique versatility we can cost effectively produce a few or millions of items for you. Our proven quality system contributes to our efficiency and gives our customers a product they can depend upon. Using state of the art equipment, we will design, print, die cut, glue, fold, and deliver your product on time at a competitive price.
