You have reached the homepage of Sandstone Archaeology, LLC. We are located in Mancos, Colorado, and though we are primarily an archaeological consulting and materials analysis company, our staff has extensive computer and web skills, and we also make these capabilities available to our clients. We provide cultural resource management (CRM) services to the Four Corners region, though our focus is primarily in Colorado and New Mexico. We also provide phytolith analyses for all of North America, Mesoamerica, and South America, as well as other selected parts of the world.

We provide archaeological consulting services to both the government and the private sector in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for the protection and preservation of our nation's cultural resources. Our staff is experienced in all phases of cultural resource management including pedestrian survey, sampling and test excavation, and mitigative data recovery projects.

We have learned a great deal about the application and value of Intuit's QuickBooks as a bookkeeping program for our business, and are willing to share our knowledge with other business owners and bookkeepers who wish to learn. We specialize in setting up QuickBooks Pro for consulting and contract businesses, and will customize the program to fit your needs to include billable and non-billable activities and services. You can use QuickBooks to invoice clients, create estimates, track costs, control inventory, perform electronic money transfers with your bank account, pay bills, and much more!

William J. Grimm , Project Director Bill Grimm has been a practicing archaeologist in the North American Southwest since 1989. He has experience with the major prehistoric cultures in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, including the Hohokam, Ancestral Puebloans, and the Mogollon. He has also worked on historic mining towns and CCC camps. His supervisory expertise ranges from small pedestrian surveys to moderate data recovery projects. He has at one time or another performed nearly all of the tasks required to carry any project through to its completion.

In addition to archaeological consulting and paleoethnobotanical services, we also offer our customers a range of computer-based technical capabilities that we make available as stand-alone products, customized to meet your specific needs. Our staff's diverse backgrounds contribute to the wide variety of technical capabilities we possess as a company, and all of these abilities can be brought to bear on the work that we are contracted to do.
