Saunas and Steambaths are a green friendly product. Saunatec takes great care to ensure its materials come from green friendly sources. Our timber primarily comes from the U.S., Canada and Scandinavia—world leaders in timber harvest ecology. In addition, our products use very little energy and are designed to be energy efficient both at holding heat and delivering the heat. The majority of our infrared saunas plug in to 120 volt household circuits and our traditional sauna heaters are available in 120 volt models (for the smallest units) to energy efficient models that run on 240V household service. The typical energy use for our infrared units are $3 to $5 per month and $5 to $10 per month for our traditional saunas. The earth friendliness of our steam bath generators is also a great story. Our generators use very little water during the course of a session. Typical water use for one session is 1 quart of water, as opposed to taking a long hot shower or bath which uses far more energy and water. In addition a steam bath is up to temperature in minutes, thus the power consumption is low. For residential steam bath generators, the typical monthly energy use is $3 to $5. From a bather standpoint, Saunatec saunas, steam, and infrared have been proven to emit no VOC’s and little or minimal EMF emissions which provides comfort and peace of mind knowing you will be releasing toxins for which heat bathing is well known, rather than exposing yourself to additional toxins, which are common in our everyday lives. Lastly, as evidence of Saunatec’s concern for the environment and the impact our company can have globally, we have implemented the procedures and received the Lloyds Register of London Certificate ISO-14001:2004 for our “Environmental Management Systems”.
