After attending Penn Trafford High School, Dr. Schaffer completed his undergraduate studies at Penn State University. He then earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, graduating with honors. He has been in private practice for over 15 years.

The chiropractic profession was founded in 1895 by D. D. Palmer. He began to develop a concept that the body has an internal power to heal itself. By choice chiropractors choose not to use drugs or surgery, and utilize natural approaches to allow the body to heal. Chiropractors primarily treat the spine and its attachments to restore function and health.
