Description

In 1979, he came to Texas and, after a stint at Studio Seven, Group 7 Productions, IPS Productions and Real to Reel, he took over a studio above the French restaurant La Madeleine. Originally called Scotch Tape Productions, the name was eventually changed to protect the guilty. From fairly humble beginnings, Scotch Productions has become a completely digital studio with the latest state of the art gear . Of course, equipment is only part of the story. Experience plays the bigger part. With over 20 years in the audio business, Gordon can bring a vast amount of understanding to your project. From putting the talent at ease, to scrutinising your script as the talent reads it, oftentimes catching errors in pronunciation, added or missed words which even client, writer and producer don't catch, to spotting grammatical mistakes. This all saves a great deal of time during editing. Clients range from private individuals cutting a voice demo tape to large corporations like ExxonMobil, (recording and producing a training tape recorded in fifteen different languages), to small folk groups and solo instrumentalists, to on-site recording using an Ultra-Light Dat recorder. And now, in 2008, Gordon has moved to the most beautiful spot, Santa Barbara where his future is going to be extraordinary................just watch. 2008 is going to be grrrrreat ! ....Razor Sharp Editing.....The one thing you can always count on is the keenest attention paid to the most minute details of your script and the judicious marking of edit points while recording. This saves a great deal of time during editing. Over 20 years experience from slicing tape with a razor blade (Ouch !!) to the latest digital waveform editing. Audio Editing is indeed an artform and can turn the proverbial sow's ear into a silk purse that sounds as smoooth as a baby's bottom. .... Music to your Ears ....One of the things that does the most to enhance any audio project is music, but not just any old piece of music, we're talking something special that will give it impact , some serious pizzazzzz and make it stand out from the bland crowd. Finding library music is never a chore at SPI. Other studios send you to a room by yourself to plough through thousands of cd's and a pile of catalogs. At SPI, using a database of almost 9,000 records collected over the past 15 years and cataloged to find just the perfect piece to fit your project, the search is done effortlessly, saving you time and frustration. If you want to hear the difference a piece of music can make to a dry piece of copy, click here, select any of the "voice only" samples. Then, play the "produced" version in the next column to hear how much music can enhance any voice track. .... SFX Just about any sound you can imagine ...........squealing tires, rifle crack, cartoon, trains, boats, planes, slot machines, horses. Or the custom sound you need can be captured on location. .... Add to all this an exceedingly patient, experienced, conscientious engineer with a decidedly non-Texas accent, always eager to be of service and help you painlessly complete your next production in the most efficient way possible.
