Description

I discovered my love for art when I was very little by copying cartoons from the funny papers. I realized then that I wanted to be an artist even though I wasn't sure exactly what that meant. Art is spiritual for me because it provides something unexplained that is available only during the creation process. I paint in oil and love figure and portrait painting. In the last year I have started painting en plein air and doing landscapes from the plein air sketches. I have studied under Connie Lynn Reilly, for portrait drawing and painting and Millie Gosch for landscape and plein air. I have also taken workshops from Michael del Priori (portraiture), and Gene Costanza (plein air). I received a merit award from Bill Davidson who judged the Southeastern Regional Plein Air Show in February, 2010.
