Description

Scott Duff's interest in firearms and their history began in the 1950s as a result of hours spent leafing through his father ’s "Guidebook for Marines" and watching John Wayne in "The Sands of Iwo Jima" too many times. At age ten his father taught him to shoot a rifle; he was hooked! Participation in DCM service rifle competition and charter membership in the Garand Collectors Association further focused his interest on the M1 Garand. He acquired his first M1, a Winchester, from the DCM in 1985. His questions concerning the history and production of the M1 rifle found few answers. Thus, he began a ten-year research effort that resulted in the publication of The M1 Garand: World War II. Now, in addition to seven books, Mr. Duff has also written over forty-five firearms related articles for various publications including
